Transporting 612

[Gentleman]

Would like some opinions, I have a 211 which I take to the lake place often, since I live where the temperature is moderate I can do it year round, would like to replace the 211 with a 612 but was concerned with the hard drive, what affect would all this transporting back and forth have on it's longevity

Dish ships a lot of receivers and I'm sure you'd probably take better care of transporting it than they do. I don't think you'll have any problems.

As long as the drive is not spinning then the heads are parked and you will not cause any trauma by transporting. I have carried my dvrs around for years.

Trust me, if the receivers make it through the hell they see while in my van they will survive a trip to the lake

Good to know, I know my 722 has a sticker on the top that states unplug and wait 30 seconds before moving
