I got an email two days ago offering the swap for Hbo/Cinemax for my Free Starz pack. I called to get it and the csr said I wasn't eligible. So I wrote an email to the dish care specialist about the confusion, and received my response yesterday. It said that He apologized for the csrs not being trained properly and to call a special number to talk to an account specialist to get my upgrade. I called the number and once again the csr said I wasn't eligible. I expressed my anger about the confusion and was transferred to a specialist who also told me I wasn't eligible. This time I quoted the email response and the name of the csr and Id number on the email and she then said hold on and I waited for several minutes. She came back and said check on your account and see if the offer is there. I said sure and checked it wasn't. She then made me wait several more minutes and then she said you have it on your account and to call back before 2/2/12 to drop it or I would be charged. So I said thanks but I don't see why I have to jump through all these hoops, phone calls and emails to get something that DISH sent me offering me a trade in for.
I don't think that DISH realizes how this angers most subs, who then tell anyone they know that DISH isn't fair in their promotions and who gets them. Luckily I've been with DISH for 15 years come January , so I know if you want something you have to work for it . I think it is stupid that I have to do it ,but anything worth having is worth fighting for. In this case Hbo /Cinemax Free for 3 months is $16.00 + $13.00= $29.00 x 3 =$87.00 of programming I got for FREE in place of the Free Starz pack of movies I've seen before. Starz is very repetitive in it's movies, and I actually watch a lot of Hbo series tv and shows. Good trade .
