If your IPhone should not reboot and you do not want to restore---If you restore now your phone will update to 3.1 and if your on Iphone3GS you may not be able to ever jailbrake your phone again. A new tool will become available from the Dev-Team that will allow the 3gs phone to be updated and broken. Do not update untill this new tool is available or you may not be able to jailbreake your phone in the future.

Use this tool Anti-Bricker

Get Rocking

It will fix your phone and get you up and running.

How many different ways are there to spell the same word (jailbreak)? :)

Thanks for the tip. Additionally, if you use the unlock to free yourself from being tied to AT&T, loading 3.1 will update the baseband firmware and that action cannot be reversed even by going to a previous version of the phone OS.

One more way jailbroken

The way i understand it is Jailbreak and Unlocking are two different things. First you must Jailbreak, then unlock. From what I read on the DevTeam blog is the only thing that may be at risk is being able to Unlock again if you upgrade to 3.1.

Just curious, if one unlocks their iphone to use a different carrier, which carrier would they jump to? T-Mobile is all that's left, right? Wouldn't that be going from bad to the worst?
