I record the series "Under The Dome" on CBS. I set up the timer for the series via the seasons' pass once I was able to just because I wanted to test it out. Tomorrow's episode is scheduled to record on CBS WBZ 4. Next week's episode is airing on WSBK My38 because of the Patriots pre-season game on CBS WBZ 4. My DVR didn't find it, it's not on the to-do list and there is no R icon in the guide on the WSBK listing for the show or on WCAX CBS when they are airing it at 2:40am, from the AM21. Other timers a little beyond this time (next Thu at 10pm) are showing in the TDL and on the guide. I thought the season's pass was supposed to make sure "you never miss your shows." I have seen other threads about this and have told people myself to just press R twice on the guide, but that wouldn't help in this situation. Is there really a way to simply (as in non-Boolean) make sure you truly never miss a show?

You got a good question there, I set up my Season Recordings thru the Guide and that always shows up in the TD Guide ... however, you have a interesting situation with the Football taking your usual channel away for your show.
Personally, seeing you caught it ahead of time, I would go to the other channel that you see it showing up on and hit the Record button, but make it a one time thing, unless the show is preempted for the rest of the season.

It's not showing up because it's a completely different channel. The series manager will only record on the channel that you originally set it to record on. For example: Recording NCIS on USA won't record it on your local CBS, even if you have it set to record all episodes.

In order to make sure it will record, you will have to set the series to record twice; one on each channel.

I'm not buying that .....
I Record NCIS on CBS, with it set to First Run Only, I have a friend that Records all of them ... it records on CBS as well as USA.

Could it be a difference between an "All Channels" series recording and one just set up to record on a Local CBS station? I've seen "All Channels" series miss ones before, when I see that happen I usually delete the "All Channels" and make sure I go to the station it is on and set it up on just that channel.

can someone explain to me how i can record series Across all channels and what is a beanpole record, because i am running room in series manager , thanks

That isn't true. I used to have a "normal" timer, just like you said (1 on each channel) for my roommate to record "Supernatural" from CW and TNT, but I changed it to a season's pass and it finds both of them. I don't understand why the Dome doesn't figure it out. I do know that a lot of the things Directv touts out there just don't work properly, but if I hadn't physically looked for the airing of the show, I would have missed it. It would make sense to put the Patriots game on My38 and not show re-runs of the the Walking Dead or whatever else they show.

Boolean recordings will record multiple channels for me, but it will ignore the First Run setting. So I do a lot of deleting

UPDATE: Maybe I just need to be more patient with the few all-channels timers I have. I mentioned in my first post that episodes of other programs beyond next Thursday's episode of Under The Dome were already scheduled. The episode of Under The Dome airing next week on WSBK My38 is now noted with the orange icon. So... I guess it works properly, just a day or so longer. I bet most DVR users would never check that far in advance so it would never be noticed.

It means timer on the other site. They insist on using that term when it makes no sense and no one else does.

My timer is set for all.
it has nothing to do with the "other site" when DIRECTV started doing they home brew DVR, they could not use Season Pass as it was Trade Marked by TiVO. They instead started using Series Link. Upon perusing their manuals now, it appears that they have change to Season Record.

Tell me more about a home brew DVR! That's an app I'd use...
