Tigers vs Cardinals in world series

Another night where the Tigers refused to work the count. They're just swinging at anything. What was the point of the pinch runner for Maggs if the guy wasn't going to run? Hooper had a good lead against a righthanded wild man and a poor throwing catcher, and he just sat there watching the batters flail away at pitches in the dirt. The pressure of this race seems to be mounting on our hitters. I hope Leyland can rein these guys in before it's too late.

Well, I didn't see either game, but I did listen to a bit of todays game, while working.
Tigers I think will be just fine, several of the struggling hitters are now starting to hit again, mainly Maggs, Pudge, and Grandeson...
Any word latley on Palanco ???
Hes been out for what , 2-3 weeks now, hopefully be back inthe swing of things in another 2-3 weeks ?
I have not heard a word lately.

Nice to see Maggs hitting like the 15M player he's supposed to be. I'm figuring 12 wins to be enough to get us to the playoffs. GO BLUE!

I'm not to worried about making the playoffs, I would like to see us start playing more solid baseball, it seems we are lacking of fundamentals of late.

I heard last week that Maroth was still having soreness and he would not be on the playoff roster, of course I guess that doesn't mean he can't pitch, but I would hate to see him not on the playoff roster. Tigers didn't figure he would be of help in theplayoffs, so I doubt they expect him to pitch again this year, thats too bad , because I saw him pitch 2 of his rehab stints and he was looking like he was getting back in game shape.... I guess Detroit didn't see it that way.

I did hear something about Palonco tonight, he's taking grounders, so hopefully soon, he is a BIG part of the line up, he adds a lot of energy !

Is he really making 15 M ? I didn't think it was that much....

Maroth will be on the roster, just a matter of roster juggling. Latest word is Colon being put on 60 day DL, which would open a spot. What the hell is wrong with Bonderman recently? Last night's loss a big disappointment. We better wake up, or we could find ourselves in second place in 5 days.

I saw the article in todays paper about Mike Maroth, It looks like he may pitch again this year after all, I think I posted otherwise, what I was trying to point out was that he would not be on the Post Season Roster, seeing he was not on the 40 man roster on September 1st.
Very unfortunate for him and the Tigers, maybe if he comes back strong it will give Leyland a chance to rest both Bonderman and Verlander, I think both are about out of gas at the moment, skipping a start might help, giving them about 10 days off each.

Yep, Tigers are looking good so far, but my local NBC (Miami vs Pittsburgh) looks terrible. They were the first to go HD in the area, but now that they started multicasting a weather subchannels you can tell their old encoders aren't up to the job.

The recall button is almost as good as PIP.

Oh btw, Tigers are up 5-0 in the 6th.

I think it is very important for the Tigers to win the 1st game of this series. mainly for moral, had (if) they should loose tonight, I think it would keep thier slumping mode in mind .... I hope they are about to break out of the slump.

Ledezma has been pitching well , and I cannot say anything about Garza because I have never seen him pitch.

Well it's not on MY ESPN2.....

It is because that 1 time out of 5, it is not on FSN Detroit. The MLB has a deal with ESPN, that they must black out to markets when they broadcast over a RSN. This forces viwers to watch their RSN if their team is playing on it, and ESPN at the same time.

By the way Steelers game looked fantastic OTA in Hamtramck. Jimbos, still trying to find out if Maroth is eligible for post season. He was on the DL and I don't think he was removed from the roster. I wont miss DY though. As a friend pointed out to me a couple of weeks ago, the Tigers slide seemed to coincide with his return. Maybe this is addition by subtraction.

Nope... its just the 3 hour drive one way does not make for a good week day trip. I go to at least 3 Tigers games every year. I have since Comerica opened. This year I went to one, knowing that they will be in the post season. I will do my best to get to two post season games.

Also, being a season ticket holder to Michigan State football does not help my case with the wife when I ask to go to a Tigers, Lions, or Pistons game.

One of the announcers said last week that Maroth would not be on the 40 man roster by Sept. 1st , thats the cut off for the playoffs...
I cannot see why they would do that unless the felt he was not as far along as they thought, he said he had some trouble with his arm again, but the severity was not known, I was given the opinion that it was a minor set back.
