comes out to repair that install and put the two round dishes, he doesn't have them he was the original installer and refused to get out of his van and leaves telling me he's going to have to find some and he'll have to charge me for this.....I said what the hell are you talking about.....he leaves and calls Holsted and says there is no problem with the install here....I need you help guys, I am on hold for Holsted supervisor. This is BS
Don't deal with the contractor anymore.
Call DirecTV immediately. Remain calm at all times, and explain your scenario. Give dates for service calls, and the installer reactions.
Before you call, try to have some idea what they need to do to "make it right by you". On the call, keep that to yourself and see if they offer to do it on their own. IF they offer something else and you are not satisfied, firmly -- but calmly -- explain "I'm not satisfied with that. If you want to make it right, then ..."
What you want to "make it right" ought to be something like fixing your setup by a certain date. In my case they wanted to push me out a month; I told them their problems aren't mine, if they want to fix it, get somebody there the next day. They did.
I hate to say it this way, but it's almost a poker game. You don't want to tip your hand too soon, b/c they might offer you some financial kickbacks as well as fixing your install. In my case I got 3 months' Showtime, plus $5/month off my TotalChoice Plus for the next 3 months. Where money is concerned you have to let the CSR offer it, you can't ask for it.
