I should not be as suprised by this as I am, but it is amazing that this company can be in bussiness(Holsted).

looks like to me that quality jumped ship along time ago with that company. Its all about getting it activated and closed. If the cust has a problem with service then they should cancell service , they do not care. they will still get paid (in thier eyes).

steve,

wait till ISS hears that they charged him $200.00+ for this nightmare. i hope they get backcharged the entire amount.

I feel for this guy so much. If he is close enough I would go over and help him out because it is clear that contractor has no clue what they are doing.

There is nothing more to say than "I am sorry"

Don't deal with the contractor anymore.
Call DirecTV immediately. Remain calm at all times, and explain your scenario. Give dates for service calls, and the installer reactions.

Before you call, try to have some idea what they need to do to "make it right by you". On the call, keep that to yourself and see if they offer to do it on their own. IF they offer something else and you are not satisfied, firmly -- but calmly -- explain "I'm not satisfied with that. If you want to make it right, then ..."

What you want to "make it right" ought to be something like fixing your setup by a certain date. In my case they wanted to push me out a month; I told them their problems aren't mine, if they want to fix it, get somebody there the next day. They did.

I hate to say it this way, but it's almost a poker game. You don't want to tip your hand too soon, b/c they might offer you some financial kickbacks as well as fixing your install. In my case I got 3 months' Showtime, plus $5/month off my TotalChoice Plus for the next 3 months. Where money is concerned you have to let the CSR offer it, you can't ask for it.

I would ask the CSR right away where they are located. Try your best to get PA or Iowa! any of the southern state CSRs do not seam to have as good of trainning.

I am soory but you are a bit out of my aera. Try a post titled "Help needed in the windsor ct area"

Best of luck
