Thinking of switching to DirecTV - Need some info

I just got an email showing the $31 for the 1st year, haven't gone back to the website though.

I guess D* figures they have Illinois locked up and don't have to do the 2nd year here!

Hmm....

In spite of the email, when I go to the D* site and build a system, it only shows $26 discount for 1 year. And of course, no 2nd year discount at all. I should be getting another offer to 'come back' in snail mail either this week or next and I can see what that is telling me.

I was thinking of just cancelling the basic cable and getting another 722, but Dish wants $100 to come to my house to hook up 3 cables as I've already ran a feed from the dish to the new 722's location. So since they won't just ship me a receiver and re-up my contract I'm looking at other options and pricing.

Have you tried getting one of the satelliteguys Dish CSR's to help you? With a little persistence I was able to get Dish to just send a receiver to my Inlaw's house after installing a dish there ourselves.
