I had been a DirecTV customer for four years, but I tired of having to call in and negotiate discounts every 6-12 months when the prices would creep up. Finally, I decided to cut the cord and go with a Roku device and an OTA antenna. This works well for most things, but as a die-hard college football fan, not having ESPN/2/U and the DVR capabilities is tough.
I just received a "come back" offer in the mail that includes three years of savings (larger amount in year one, smaller amount in years two and three).
I have three questions related to my decision to possibly come back:
(1) Would I still be able to use the friends referral program in conjunction with this offer? (I canceled my DirecTV membership 8 months ago.)
(2) What additional charges am I going to see in addition to the TV Package price I select? (HD fee? DVR fee? Genie DVR fee?)
(3) Are there any other re-subscribe offers I should consider or ask about? (e.g., Costco, AAA member)
