They're here again...

The bolts are optional with this kind of installer, sure they help but who needs them, they are just time wasters! I have come across many an install with the bolts loose or omitted, and worse. Did the original installer use a sight survey tool? If yes and he has put the dish in the wrong location it will have to be moved, even then about 10 deg. clearance is needed for future tree growth minimum or its just not worth it in the long term. We will see what the boss says if/when he shows up, would be interesting to see if the boss has a sight survey tool or maybe he does it all from memory : )

that sounds like my weekend... I was having a reciever swapped out (why they sent a tech is another story) anyway he was suppsoed to come saturday between 8 and 12.... at 9 he calls and says that someone quit on them and it would be between 3 and 4. I could accept that... at 5:30 I was outside with my father In Law chopping part of a tree down when the phone starts ringing. He says hes not going to make it till late at night but could come by noon sunday. I said OK as I am usually home by then on sunday. His boss calls sunday afternoon at about 4:30 saying that his truck was broken down and he would try to make it by monday at noon. He calls monday at about 12:30 asking for directions to my house. It was utterly rediculous.

You're too patient, Cascade. I'd be calling everyone under the sun to get someone out there ASAP, an FSM, someone who can wipe their own ass to get that job done.

Get yourself some monthly credits too.

Kristen from the executive office just called me back and she's going to track down "Cliff".
I asked her if it was common sense for an installer to bring a pole if the work order states that the dish may need to be relocated, she said she agreed with that.
bcshields, the problem is I don't know who to call, all I have is Kristens number and the standard CSR 1800 number.

Shadow, you've probably seen that this is the 3rd time i've been screwed on an install, you can catch the original thread and the 2nd threads here:

Im pretty sure I have comments in both those threads... anyway I have talked to Kristen before... shell get them straitened out... Shes the one that took care of my situation.

It isnt that hard to drive a pole in the ground and get a signal if you install these dishes regularly. Trees can be hard to work around sometimes though.

DISCLAIMER: I did NOT do the homework to se what he needs off of 105.

If you only need the ODD transponders from 105, you can use a DP34, DP Dual or Quad, and a standard Ku LNBF mounted 90 degrees sideways.

The DP34 voltage will drive it to vertical ("even"), but you fool it by being 90 degrees off, and it will catch the horzontal ("odd"). The opposite can probably be done by using an external power supply and a DC-blocking splitter.

There is NO way to get both odd & even into DishPro using an standard Ku LNBF. :(

This thread is the very reason I am no longer an installer. It takes time to do a good survey and an install that is satisfactory. One common problem with superdishes is incorrect skew. Another is the weak signal of the 105 dish. I did several reinstalls for systems installed when there was no vegetation on trees in the winter.

Yes, it does take time to put these in if it is to be done right. I have very few problems other than having to move a few dishes due to trees because they grew out a lot more this year (due to more rain) than they ever had since I started over 5 years ago. I have had a few get impatient complaining about the time it took.

Did they say when they are coming out?

I work with the telephone companies all day and that bugs me when they say "today", because either they are there at 9AM or they don;t show until 5PM

Cliff called me yesterday evening at around 4:30 and asked me if I'd be in later in the evening. I told him no because ironically I had to go out at 5:30 to sort a friends cable system out.
I seem to remember him saying something about midday, by the time he called I'd totally switched off.
