The Walking Dead on AMC

The Walking Dead Season starts in October :) It looks like it's going to be a great season :)

You know...I never watched this show (okay, 5-minutes perhaps with my 75-year old mom who loves it) but I'm going to give it a try after all the hoopla after being yanked from Dish. I also tried Breaking Bad and Mad Men (didn't watch more than a show or two) because of the AMC-Dish attention. Anyway, I'm recording seasons 1 and 2 next weekend (marathon) just it case.

I have my recorder set for the marathon :)

Hi, I'm coming in VERY late on this thread, but read most of the comments. Long time reader of TWD,(jumped on at issue9 -went back and read the 1st 8, then kept on going!!! Issue 100 was released a couple months back) They have kept it close to the comic books, but different enough so even those of us who read the book will be "suprised". Robert Kirkman has said they are 2 different entities, so things do happen differently. Yes Dale died a lot earlier in the tv series :( Shane died later than in the book. I love how they are doing it. I can't wait until the season premier next week!:D.

I'm not going to read the thread since I have just started watching The Walking Dead Marathon today on AMC. I'm not up to Season 1, Episode 5 and I'm hooked. Anyway, I'll probably get through Season 1 this weekend, but Season 2 will have to wait another week or two.

It just has a way of sucking you in.First time I watched it had no idea what to expect, but by the end of it I was like yea this is cool.

It really is character driven. The zombies make it exciting, but the characters are what make it worth watching each week.

Unrelated to the story, I think some of the actors are amazing. Andrew Lincoln (Rick) is British, and he pulls off a very believable southern accent.

I agree...the walkers are eh, but the story and characters are compelling.

If you think that's impressive, you should hear me speak after some Guinness or English Lager has passed my lips. I can speak anything from perfect Queen's English to Wales and everything up to Scotland. Just get with a group of Brits and some warm beer and it just flows. Blimey! You blokes can kiss my bum. Besides, all British people learnt American by hearing Benny Hill speak with a big southern drawl while wearing a cowboy hat, chaps, and holstering a weapon. :D

Heck, I thinks there are just about as many Brit/Canadian/Aussie actors on U.S. TV today as there are American.

Yea when I found out Lincoln was a Brit I was like no way. Then Jason on True Blood is an Aussie. No idea how they do it.Guess it's like singers from abroad that sound so American.Oh and Lenny James is also a Brit.

It isn't just that he has a convincing American accent, it is that he has a southern accent. So many times an actor tried too hard and just sounds silly. Many American actors have a hard time doing a Southern accent.

I have been watching The Walking Dead marathon and recording it and can't wait for season premiere tonight :)

Me too. I've had the shows playing, or playing in the background, since yesterday and I have three more episodes to watch so I am caught up to tonight's Season 3 Premiere. The Walking Dead Marathon and Fearfest weekends promos feel very MonstersHD like. It's too bad Dish terminated the affiliation agreement before shows like The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad and Hell on Wheels could be developed as original series for Voom.

Well, I'm all caught up thanks to the TWD marathon this weekend. Anyway, I can't believe some of the people who were killed in the final shows of Season 2. However, I am so, so, so glad the group is moving on from the farm.

hehehe out of the frying pan into the fire it would seem.
