The Official Super Bowl XLIII Thread

I would, but I don't know if my current one is on the site or not, I was not the one to put it there and would hate to change it and loose it.

Give it up, wicked.

I thought the officiating was a bit dodgy, but I refuse to believe the Cards got screwed.

Arizona made their share of mistakes in the game.

Was this a better Super Bowl than last year?
Beating the Cardinals is not the same as the Giants upset over the 18-0 Patriots, but it was a very good game. Frankly I wasn't expecting much and for 3 quarters it was pretty dull, but the 4th quarter was fantastic. Once again the NFL shows why playoffs are better than a rigged system run by polls and computers.

The fact that Arizona made the Super Bowl proved that making the playoffs, regardless of record, is more important than looking good prior.

Now the thing for the Cards fans is to NOT forget about them next year if they go 8-8 and not make the playoffs ... lets see if the fans come out to support them when they are not a division leader.

Fan support has been tremendous since they started to play in a real stadium. This is a different team now that they have a home suited to the desert. Imagine sitting on a metal bench in the wide open with temps ranging from 110-115. It was inhuman to endure a game until October rolled around.

With an indoor stadium, the games have been sold out for three seasons. Kurt Warner has been quite a blessing for the team. Larry Fitzgerald has said he would take a cut in his, agreed upon, salary to keep Boldin. This is a very different team. This was one of the best sporting events I have ever watched. The outcome was slightly disappointing, but seeing two "last-minute" drives to take the lead was surreal.

as they say...any given Sunday....

This one will be remembered by all who watched.

Springsteen was good.

Springsteen was horrible! At first, he was screaming about putting the chicken fingers down, turn up the volume, bs, bs, bs and I was like "just shut up and start singing" and then he launches into a few bad songs and ends with the best song of the set, Glory Days.
Where was Born in the USA? USA is home to the Super bowl of course...

I was more entertained looking for Max Weinberg and La Bamba in the band in the various camera shots until Glory Days started.

I was hoping the halftime dog of a concert could be saved by the girl in the red dress who was bopping up and down enough that I was hoping for an accidental wardrobe malfunction of her fakies coming out.

time to go back to the better singers/bands - the geezers aren't doing it (except Prince). I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Katy Perry at the halftime show but the NFL probably has to worry about inappropriate lyrics ("Kissed a Girl" song) or potential for intentional nudity.

Cardinals got screwed. Santonio Holmes used the football as a prop in an endzone celebration after the catch, like a salt shaker and then threw it in the air. Right after the 10 annoying replays. 15 yards would have changed Warners last drive.

My 2 cents(as if anyone cars, but will give it a go anyways!:p)

- Best Super Bowl..? No. Last's years Super Bowl was a tad better. Best Super Bowl GAME to watch? YES! Alot of drama, best defense vs a super offense, former Steelers coaches now coaching the Cardinals, best defender in the playoffs...Palomalu vs best offensive player in the playoffs, Fitzgerald...alot fo good stuff.

- Cardinals defense was actually BETTER than the Steelers defense. Let's face it, IF they don't have the 100 yard interception and the Cardinals don't self destruct with 4 personal foul penalties in one drive, the Steelers offense do/did nothing.
Also, I KNEW they had to do a double coverage on Fitzgerald because there was NO WAY they were cover him with single. Barely heard Palomalo's name all night.

- The final touchdown, to me was NOT a touchdown, you can see he had one foot down and the other one BELOW the other foot...almost like 'spooning' each other. You can see that the back foot never drag anything and the moment Holmes caught the ball...he lifted it because he had to STRETCH for the ball. AMAZING CATCH none the less.

- CLEARLY, Holmes saved the Steelers A$$ the whole game. They could not run, they could barely get to ball to anyone else and he was the game.

- Larry Fitzgerald in THE BEST WR IN THE GAME....PERIOD!!! There is no IFs, ANDs or BUTs about it. Baring any injuries, he is on his way to quite possibly be the greatest WR in the history of the game. AND a great kid to boot.
** Side note.....Hey AL DAVIS, how does picking Robert Gallery OVER Larry
Fitzgerald look now you F***ING IDIOT!!!! I have been HEARTBROKEN
of WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN during the playoffs because of what that guy
has accomplished you rat-food-in-waiting son-of-a-*****!!! ***

OK, back to our regularly scheduled programming! LOL! :D:D:D

- Springsteen STILL shows that of all the old foogies that still play(Stones, Aerosmith and Tom Pettys of the world), he STILL puts on the best show....hands down!! But, it was EXTREMELY disappointing he did NOT play "Born in the USA":(

- Finally, this was THE WORST Super Bowl when it came to commercials I have EVER seen! What the hell happened??!! Suddenly, everyone became moral and there was no balls anywhere to be found. LAME A$$ commercials from the stalworths like Bud and Go Daddy were EXTREMELY tame by comparison. Hell, the ONLY somewhat commercials where the Bridegstone commercials and the only one I caould truly remember was the one where the space buggie had it's tires stolen and left of blocks on the moon....that's it! :(

The commercial with Mr and Mrs Potato Head had me laughing the most.

Great game;BUT. I have been a NFL fan since 1944 and never miss a game, to which I have access, but isn't a 5 or 6 hour pregame show, for a 3 hour game, absurd? And I don't get the total lack of any new programming, on any network, for the entire day, because it's SB Sunday. :-(
