The NFL Blotter Report

I don't care what the talking heads or supposed polls are saying, but Roger Goodell is gone,it's only a matter of time. I will "conservatively" predict that he'll be gone by the time that the Super Bowl comes around, maybe even before the playoffs start,& that's being VERY CONSERVATIVE.

I'm not a big fan of Roger Goodell. But, why is it that we want to hold him to a higher standard than we do the President? Or that the NFL is supposed to be transparent but somehow the government is not.

As for Goodell resigning, I don't really care. I'll be in Foxboro Sunday wether he's the commish or not.

I doubt it. If he were to resign I don't see it happening until after the season. The only way he resigns is if there are owners or endorsers who boycott him.

Curious on why people are calling for his (Goodell's) head and not the head of the GM of the Raven's, the Coach of the Raven's, and demand the owner of the Raven's sell the team. I think they are much more to hold acceptable than Goodell.

The report I read said that Harbaugh wanted to release Rice right after it happened, but was overruled by Bichotti and Newsome.

The Raven's president & GM are more culpable than Harbaugh in the Ray Rice affair because they are the one's who decide if he stays or goes. GM Newsome said that Rice was honest with him & the second video backed that up. People sense that there is a cover up in the NFL about the second tape(among other things),& that's why they are calling for Goodell's head.

I get that many suspect the NFL has been less than honest or maybe leading a coverup but I would still think if the Raven's had done the right thing to begin with, it would have never gotten to this point. From an ESPN report I read this morning the Raven's knew within hours of the incident and were less than forthright and manipulated the press and public with what they knew. It seem's they are the ones who asked the NFL for leniency for Rice and as someone else pointed out, it is being reported Harbaugh wanted Rice cut in February (Evenif true, Harbaughs' press conference was still a disaster) but he was over-ruled by the GM and others. I think the NFL has a history of horrible and inconsistent punishment rulings but in this case and in most cases, in my opinion, it is the team that should lead the way and determine the punishment and not the NFL in player conduct issues. But, I also think people look at the punishment that Rice originally received and look at the punishments of Gordon, Sean Payton, and others and they conclude that the NFL has determined substance abuse, defensive bounties, are deserving of a harsher punishment than players who are involved in domestic abuse. To many this is bass-ackwards thinking and that is where Goodell has screwed up.

I'm not sure how Goodell's conference was cold and empty, he announced he was blowing up the personal conduct policy. That's kind of a big deal and affects every single player, coach, and league personnel including himself.
