If they go away from the SD card and make the back out of glass, then I won't be going with Samsung anymore.

Yeah not having a SD card not that big of a deal to me they make the phones now with so many sizes 32GB,64GB,128GB so forth and the glass is not that bad. Either way I always use a case on my phones due to they cost so much so it's better to have them protected than take the risk of dropping them. I had 32GB phone before still had about 8GB free for having it for 2 years and still had space so it's never a issue. So that was plenty for me for someone who does not update their phone every year but I went with a 64GB version of the S6 this time around it should be plenty for the next 2yrs when I'm ready to upgrade again. So I think the SD card is not a must have people should have plenty of room plus you can always put stuff out on the cloud or especially things like music. So to them the SD card thing got way over blown like many things do and those who upgrade every year it wont really matter since those folks switch out devices so often.

Which again to me switching to a new device every year is not a must have there usually not that much improvement from one years device to another and a 2 year wait about right. But some don't like to wait so I can see why they let folks do it so it will just depend up to what people want to do. But I don't get to crazy with storing a bunch of things to begin with so it's better to try to manage things on your device. For those who might store tons of things where there always to do things where you can have plenty of space if people keep most of their music and photos out on the cloud should never be a issues. Especially if your someone who has a lot of music and photos now that they will let you keep unlimited photos and I think they are doing that with videos has well with the latest Google Photo. So again I can see what folks are saying but I think there plenty of ways to do things where these things should not be a issue. :)

I have so much stuff on my 32GB SD card that I have moved from phone to phone that I just don't want to have to spend time transferring it off.

I have gotten to the point where I do not even use my SD card. Photos and music I put on one of the many cloud storage options. Currently using one drive and icloud. Basically all I keep on the phone is apps.

To your sd card content, I would make a copy of it somewhere. That thing goes poof, which does happen, and then you lost it all.

It is likely all of them move to (not necessarily glass) fixed backs and no sd slot in the future. Or the big players anyway.

Yeah I can understand that as well. But to me that just another reason why I would not use a SD card on a phone just easier to move things from one phone to another if your data on the phone. With Touch & Tap now you can move over your Apps and there plenty of Apps that will transfer your data like photos, documents so forth through NFC or Bluetooth. Just a overall easier process and does not take near as long now. :)

I can live without the sdcard. One Drive, Dropbox and Google Photo's makes that easier.

However, I really hate not having a removable back and battery. I tend to give my old phones to family members. Buy a new battery and they are good. I can't do that if the battery is weak and dying when I change devices.
