The Latest Android News

So I have been watching this Amazon Fire Phone Press Conference... and I am underwhelmed. I like the camera and the fact the the phone has 2 speakers and offers Dolby Digital Plus Virtual Surrpound Sound and a 13 Megapixel camera...

But other then that I am unimpessed.

Yeah I been posting about it over at our General Phone News section but yeah I think they have some cool things but really nothing that not everyone else is not already doing. Just something that they are trying to branch off in the mobile market but for anyone to try to get in the game they can not really be to competitive but again Amazon bread and butter is not mobile devices. Again I think they will do ok but kind of reminds me of WebOs with HP just wont last or they will sell it as a just a extra add on you can get with your Kindle products. But right now the mobile market is kind of set and don't see things ever changing so this is just something i think their testing the waters with. One of the biggest mistakes manufactures make is by just releasing it to one provider which they should never do you want as many people possible to get their hands on the device so you should always launch it for all providers. That's the MO for AT&T though they try to sweet talk manufactures in letting them get it first.

I was hoping for more.

I can only imagine what 4 cameras constantly looking for your head position is going to do for battery life.

So I was hoping for something that would maybe get me of my current phone. This was not it.

I do like the screen and the speakers but thats about it.

I just bought a brand new unlocked Moto E for $130. You just can't beat it at that price point. Motorola is trying to kill the feature phone market with the Moto E, and I think they just may succeed.

I assume the Amazon phone uses their own forked version of Android. IS that correct?

Yeah the Moto stuff looks really good I hope they keep making new hardware plus I really like their new Moto 360 watch looking at getting one once it gets released.
