I know that NBC covered the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament from the late 1960s up until, 1981 (when CBS took over). Even after losing the rights to the March Madness tournament, NBC still covered college basketball up until around 1991, when they gained the NBA from CBS. I was coming around to creating an article about NBC's college basketball coverage for Wikipedia. But then, the DBSforums went down, and I was going to use one of their threads about not only NBC's past coverage, but ABC's college basketball coverage as a template.

First off, welcome from a fellow former DBSForums member.

Anyway,

as for NBC's coverage,

they showed some of the games, but not all of them.

One thing I should point out is that in those days, the NCAA was not a 64-team tournament- only 32. There was no modern first-round- it started with what is today's second round.

They would usually show either the high-profile teams (UCLA, for example) or the high-ranked teams.

They wouldn't show all the early-mid tournament games, but their coverage usually picked up later on by the regional finals and then the Final Four.

Let's have some fill-in-the blank fun
