Did they ever decide to repair or replace after the collapse of one of the landing gear on the last landing test?

Isn't that why they have these tests? I would imagine that the design group is busy taking that data and coming up with something better.

I worked on the 787 electrical system. I know how many iterations and tests we went through. Each one improved the performance and reliability. But all that publicity over the batteries really put stress on the group where every little glitch was plastered across the front page. And the battery issues were upstream from our system.

We are about to release 'final' code for our current project, but we will keep a dozen or so on the project to deal with teething issues. As much as you test, something you never anticipated always shows up.
