The Cleveland Cavaliers part ways with head coach Mike Brown

Actually, if Izzo DOES sign here, it makes me think him and Gilbert know a little something about LeBron's intentions, otherwise, why give up one of the best gigs in CBB at Michigan State?

I don't know, how would Gilbert know a little something about Lebron's intentions? If you take Lebron's public statements, you can interpret them any way you like. Do you really think Lebron told Gilbert something privately?

I guess it's possible, but it's also possible Izzo is going for the money. As good as the gig is at MSU, it does not pay anywhere close to what Gilbert will pay him.

And Izzo knows if the NBA thing doesn't work out he can cash a bunch of gigantic paychecks and then go back to college, where he would find a position in a nano-second. ;)

Why would he turn the Bulls down though?

I've read reports that Izzo talked to the Bulls, but have yet to see any confirmation that an actual offer was made to be turned down.

Have you seen anything different??

Joel Ferguson, chairman of MSU's Board of Trustees, told The Detroit News that Izzo declined an offer from the NBA's Chicago Bulls last week, an indication, Ferguson says, Izzo remains committed to the school."

More Izzo Updates from Cavs beat....

Izz he or Izzn't he?

Source: Izzo & family impressed with visit. But Izzo has not accepted job. Yet.

To clarify, Izzo left town without accepting job. Didn't say no either.

Gilbert was believed to have flown down with Izzo from Michigan this afternoon.

Izzo to media tonight about rally at MSU: I feel bad about (the rally). But I do feel good that I did what I had to do." No other comment.

When asked for timetable on decision, Izzo said: “It’s not gonna be forever, that’s for sure.” Well, good he cleared that up.

Despite rumors, Tom Izzo has not called a press conference today...yet. Sources say no decision...yet.

Izz he or Izzn't he?

This is Tom Izzo "being" Tom Izzo, he always feels he doesnt get the "love" here in Michigan, but I guess all coaches have that. Personally I dont think he would be a good coach at the pro level, he's a screamer and a yeller, we know how that will work with pros

A radio talk show host said it best yesterday. Paraphrasing...

He said Izzo should take the contract, then starting with the first day, make LeBron run laps at practices.

He'd be fired within 6 months, and have 30 million guaranteed to retire on, early.

Oh gosh, top story on local news tonight....Izzo's struggle with his choice...Where is my BARF BAG

From Cavs beat...

Source: LeBron James would approve of Tom Izzo's hiring as Cavs coach. "100 percent" high-placed source tells PD.

Yet the standoff continues. Izzo would like to talk to LeBron before deciding. LeBron doesn't plan on committing anywhere before July 1st. Ugh....
