Had a new 622 coming in today to replace a defective unit. Finished transferring the rest of my shows to the external, about 40 recordings total.

In setting up the new Dish I knock over the external, falls to carpet. I set it back up. Come back 10 minutes later and a bad clicking noise. Dish nor anything for that matter will recognize the drive. Dish says the usb device is non supported, my computer reports cannot read from disc. So the USB hook up happens but the disk is shot.

All shows down the tubes! Only bright spot is a lot are concerts from HDNET and RAVE that get repeated and repeated.

I had a second external that hooked up and worked fine further confirming my drive was shot.

this is why i am very excited about the prospect of flash drive tech gaining steam.

Crack the case open and make sure that all contacts are full on, it could be a loose connection and the current isnt making full on contact.

Im sending it back on a warranty claim so I don't want to crack the case per se.

I had one of my current internal drives clicking due to just that issue, once I found that the power cord wasnt making proper contact after I had done some work in the case I pressed it in and the problem stopped.

Is it possible to hide channels from the DISH managed guides?

What is a wing Dish?
