As some members here have observed in other threads, my location in Ionia, MI at the studios of WION is fantastic for OTA reception! (check out zip 48846 NOT in the city valley but north of town)...I have a choice of (3) Me-TV affiliates, one in Lansing, one in Flint, one in Kalamazoo. Kalamazoo is the most reliable most of the time!
I enjoy the retro content of Me-TV, sometimes on FTA, but mostly on OTA due to convenience. I use a very neat system called the "TabloTV" box as my PVR and distribution of the live and recorded programming through their ROKU app. It's less cost than TIVO in many ways, and appealed to my curiosity of supporting the underdog as well. (Someday, a review here on Satguys board...I don't think there is one yet.)
For some time, when the non-local "product" ads for certain items would air on this channel, their video would be fine, but audio would act like it was the Chipmunks speaking. Then, BAM...right back to normal. Something in the audio encoded into their spots was not playing on my TABLO. I contacted them. They actually worked with me to tell me WHEN the spots would air, and checked back with me numerous times. AS of today, they're swapping out those files with new ones and different "PIDs" to help with the issue, and have remained in contact with me through the process. I was able to send them an uploaded video link showing the issue, and they got right-on trying to find the problem!
I have to say, it's refreshing to have a TV station treat a viewer as IMPORTANT and not as a bother! Given all the different types of tuners out there, and PVR's, they were concerned, and are trying hard to fix the issue, with only two spots left to swap out, they messaged me to let me know of their progress.
Hats off to a Me-TV affiliate that cares! Refreshing, isn't it?
