The New England Patriots are playing the Tampa Bay Bucs in London,England this coming Sunday & naturally my local stations are not showing it.I forgot what year it was,but I remember when the Miami Dolphins also played a game in London & it wasn't shown here(I live in the Augusta,GA market). When I emailed the local channel about it,they claimed that it wasn't carried stateside anywhere. How the hell was I supposed to know,I only had cable then. Well now,the $300.00 looks good, because situations like this is why I went to D* & NFL ST. I don't even think Red Zone would do this game justice. Sure the Bucs suck this year, but I love to watch what I consider "history" & to me this game qualifies.

How stupid of the NFL to do this in the middle of the season, or as a REAL game in the first place .... I could see as an exhibition game, but not in the middle of the season.

I believe that both the Patriots & the Bucs have a bye week after this game. It's a 5 hour time difference between the East Coast & the UK. So,even though the game is 6 PM "locally" in the UK,it's still 1 PM East Coast time,so there's not much chance of jet lag. The only problem for the teams is the long plane ride both ways.

yes both teams have a bye

well I cant see it either. Fox has DH and the Vikes play at noon...that always gives us the oh so lovely late game of NYJ vs. Oakland (well I guess it could be Buffalo & Carolina)

i get to watch it either way, but it already is an exhibition game

Its because the NFL is thinking about adding a team in London, but not for several years. So its a kind of test. Here is an article about it [Link]

That would be soooooooo incredibly stupid, I can't believe a smat man like Goddell would think of it.

Imagine, a TEAM in london ..... That team would play half of it's games in the USA and the other half over there ..... Talk about unfair to them and the teams they play.

The same logic could apply to putting a professional team in Honolulu,HA. That's also a 5 hour difference from the east coast. At least you just have a 5 hour difference between the east coast & the UK. Do like both the Patriots & the Bucs did,fly in the night before & play the game, which will still be 1PM east coast time. There's no jet lag involved, just fatigue from the long flight in both directions. The west coast,& mountain time zone teams may have a problem, but the east coast & central time zone teams shouldn't.

I think if an NFL player had a choice, they'd rather play in London that is 5 hours ahead than to play in Mexico City(another consideration for an NFL team) that is dirt poor & has the highest kidnapping rate in the world. Not to mention the drug cartels & highest murder rate.

Anyway,I'm glad I have NFL ST because i'm watching the New England/Tampa Bay game right now & I can change over to watch San Diego/Kansas City in their retro AFL jerseys. Also,I can watch New Orleans versus the Wildcat Offense Miami Dolphins. My only choice locally is Atlanta/Dallas(which isn't bad) on Fox & Buffalo/Carolina on CBS(which is why I'm not watching New England/Tampa Bay locally).

I bet the players would say NEITHER if they had a choice, also keep in mind that Mexico City for the NFL to show up once a year is NO BIG DEAL, the teams go NO WHERE near anything that would put them in harms way, they more than likely are at a highly guarded Hotel and escorted to the stadium and then back to the airport.

I wonder how many people with ST are watching the New Orleans/Miami game right now? That seems like THE game to watch right now.

I am, but have been flipping around as well.

Nice TO for Miami at the end of the half, gave NO time enough to decide to go for the TD instead of the FG.
