Has anyone else lost TXCN this am? Seems like everything else is working on this satellite/ thanks

it's still there, however that mux seems to be acting up, because despite having 87% quality it is pixelating kinda bad for me, France 24 as well

Zombiesat is on the attack man, that's why they've moved a pair of the muxes to other satellites in the mean time, well, more than moved i should say "mirrored" (most notably, i guess, the STO channel at 91°W with the same tp and SR.

I lost @ 121°W the capacity to get Azteca America because signal droped a lot, also a pair of new transponders in that sat are pixelating heavily since at least three days and i can't make out what's their content, but one of them seems to be a channel with only color bars in it.

Cheers

Mike

G23 (found this on the internet)

Has anyone else lost TXCN this am? Seems like everything else is working on this satellite/ thanks

Since early July, the G-23 spacecraft was regularly experiencing the phenomenon resulting in degradation for brief periods daily. The events have subsided and only noted sporadically during the past week.

Since our last correspondence, 6 July 2010, our operations and engineering teams have been evaluating the gathered information. Despite enhanced monitoring and measuring capabilities, Intelsat has yet to isolate the phenomenon to either a ground- or onboard-based issue.

Because of this lack of clarity, in conjunction with a satellite manufacturer, Intelsat will step up efforts to isolate the phenomenon through a series of tests starting on 21 July 2010, 0600GMT and continuing through 23 July 2010, 1000GMT. Depending on what we learn during that period, we may repeat tests the following week.

The tests will entail exercising unallocated transponders on the satellite by alternately muting transponders and then un-muting and activating carriers up to saturation levels in those transponders. We will evaluate the effect of power fluctuations on the spacecraft. Additionally, we will attempt to determine if certain frequency sets are prone to instigating the phenomenon.

Though the source and cause of the phenomenon has not yet been identified, ways to address and eliminate most extreme and severe effects have been developed and used successfully in previous events. Every effort will be made to limit the periods of time the phenomenon is present, but it is fairly certain there will be periods of degradation as a result of our efforts to locate the source and cause of the phenomenon.

The Azteca America mux is not there. I haven't seen it on the BLSA for at least a week now. I thought it might be a temporary thing, but apparently it's gone.

Dang, thanks for checking it with your BLSA man, I also tought it might be temporary, but maybe they're gone for good, well, at least it was part of the rumors inside azteca, or well, engineers who work for their control centers, i've been in touch with a couple of them since a few months ago (when they came to tape and broadcast a boxing fight here in the city), and while they were happy that Azteca was in the process of changing all their downlink stations for the local channels, so they can have the HD channels (they use a KAON receiver with a card slot to decrypt BISS and... CONAX i think it's the one they're using).

*sigh*... well, we'll see how it delves in the few weeks ahead of us.

Cheers!

RTV - Lyngsat

Even some cable co's must use smaller C-Band dishes
