the vid card i have ATI 9800pro 256meg card i bought the day they where released about 1 year ago and paid about 500 for the card us. The picture quality at 1080i on the desktop is very small and hard to read but don't notice any interlacing quality concerns and it works fine for what i use it for mainly movies, divx, xvid, and game playback and i also have the card hooked up to the monitor at the same time so i can see the monitor fine for moving around windows and the like.
My monitor is 21" capable of 2048x1536 res at 85hz refresh.
I mainly use the pc to tv for the above games and movies is all everything else i just use the monitor in general.
also yes the specs on the T2 HD version are extreme for pc requirments.
Here is the spec system i use:
P4 2.4c Oced @ 3.3ghz
1 gig geil golden dragon pc3500 @ 275fsb dual channel mode
ATI 9800 pro 256meg oced to 400/365
When i first got the film and tried to play it the dvd player i had was only a 4x and would not even read the data from the dvd fast enough so i found the directory with the wmv files in it and extracted all like 6 gig to the pc hard and watched from there bypassing the dvd drive. I have gotten a 16x dvd drive and still find it hard to fast forward and rewind without major wait time.
I know the film to play at 24fps needs to process about 9mb per sec to keep the film going and steady.
