Going to in-laws for a few days and he has cable. We really want to get NFLNetwork for the game on Saturday so was thinking maybe I could use one of my DTV receivers and hook it up to an old DNW dish that was left at my house. Can this work?
The reciever is 2 yrs old but not sure about the age of the dish.
Any advice will be much appreciated.
thanks

NFL Network should be on the 101 sat in SD, if your looking for SD.
As long as the rec. is an active one you should be good to go.

If your looking for the HD feed, that would be on the 103 I think and you would need a 5 lnb dish and HD rec for that.

IF the DISH Network dish has a DP on the LNB it won't work. If the DISH LNB dosen't have a DP on it but it is about 6" wide it won't work, those are Twins or Quads and have internal switches.

DP LNBs use a DISH bandstacking that dosen't work with D*
Legacy Twins and Quads use an incompatible switching.

Is this a DISH network set up or a D* set up ?
I saw the DTV receiver mentioned, and presumed he meant D*, but the actual DISH was not, so I am confused.

If it's DISH then my info as far as where to find it will be entirely wrong.

Sorry,
Jimbo
