I personally would like to see FSC, MSNBC, History International & ESPN U added as well as more HBO's, TMC's, etc. but I guess I'll take what they give me & be happy with it
That "Niche" market is why D* and other providers continue to expand. Sports programming is what keeps these companies in business. Pull the channels and services will be cancelled quickly since they will be attending the games live. Then D* and other providers wont have the subscriber numbers to make the pricing reasonable.

No EI = No DirecTV for me. I would easily go to another provider that carries it, such as FiOS, if DirecTV pulled Extra Innings.
The only two things keeping me from going to FiOs now are:
- Can't take it with me when I travel, like I do DirecTV
- EI HD offerings are dismal on FiOS.
No, but if ST is one of the reasons for them choosing Direct and they pulled ST, then you would see many of those niche subs move to another provider for other reasons.

Football, aka soccer here in the states, is the most watched sport in the world. Its just a matter of time before it also becomes a major sport here in the US. We already have a few channels dedicated to the sport. It wasn't that long ago when not even ESPN would televise the World Cup for gods sake....

If I want FSC I have to order the Sports Pack, unfortunately it includes the Big Ten Network and MANY other RSN's that are a waste for me.
Looks like it's only available for bars and restaurants for now:
