Just been busy with a few issues with my son's grandma. She has leukemia so things haven't been all that well in Florida. I do have some nice photos you will get a kick out of this evening! (morning)

You know, on what I joked about before on the caption, I realized how much I can't wait to get a Hi-def unit for PBS HD. I'm so tired of our local affiliate cropping everything in HD. They don't do it with live stuff...only with recorded things. My son watches PBS Kids all the time since all we get is OTA and FTA.

I'd rather him watch PBS as opposed to mindless material on Noggin or Nick. It's a little too much ding-dong.

So, what sort of cropping do they do?

I recall you saying you had TV stations in two directions.
And there were two of some network outlet.
I guess you only have the one OTA PBS??

3 PBS stations run in the tri-county area.

WPBT - (my DMA)
WLRN - (my DMA)
WXEL - (Northern DMA-west Palm)

WPBT crops the recorded hi-def, I can tell because I can barely see the E/I logo @ the top. The live stuff is fine. If I'm gonna be subjected to "Sid The Science Kid" every morning, I'd like some HD please! Not cropped non-sense!

WLRN to this day CONTINUES to show EVERYTHING in 480p and I have no clue why. They have NO sub-channels. There must be a dummy at the switch. I hope the dummy reads this! Plus, they run PBS-HD LIVE! Why do that if you can't show for it?

WXEL I've never really watched a lot and we're used to the WPBT schedule. I'm not sure how they handle playback of Hi-Def material. I haven't quite checked yet.

It seems a lot of stations tend to not have the ability to play back recorded Hi-def in actual 1080i, 720p Hi-def. Love this area!
