Pathfire System Capable of HD Delivery
Warner Bros. and syndication distribution network Pathfire are gearing up to distribute more HD content than ever this fall. The companies this week announced the creation of the first file-based HD syndication delivery service, capable of delivering HD content to more than 1,400 broadcast facilities.

Step in the right direction. Now we need the local stations to put in the infrastructure to be able to use this new capacity. Our local station that shows Wheel of Furture and Jeporday don't so why the shows are in HD we get the SD version (don't care about those since I don't watch them anyway).
 
I was told that local stations have to upgrade so they can record the HD stream.. the network broadcasts are at the same time, so they just foward the signal on.. this is what I got from my local tv person when I asked.. mind you that's the shortened version..
