Hello All. I am looking to possibly switch from DirecTV to Dish to save a few bucks a month. But, I have a couple of questions on my potential setup that I am hoping someone can help me with.
Today I have 3 receivers with DirecTV. I am looking to go down to 2 separate signals in the future. What I want to do is have one output of the 2 tuner receivers mirrored to 2 separate TVs in my home. I have a TV in my living room (main TV) and then one in my family room and one in the bedroom. The family room and bedroom are basically never on at the same time so I am thinking mirroring them would be fine. Here are my questions:
1. If I get the 625 DVR and decide I do not like the DVR features, can I turn that subscription/feature off to remove the $6/month fee?
2. Can I get a second UHF remote to put in the bedroom so I can remote control (from a distance) the TV in the family room AND from the bedroom (since they'll both be separated from the receiver by walls and so on)? Will I have to pay for that extra remote or can I request that when I sign up?
3. When I spoke to a local firm they said the installer will likely charge me $30-40 to mirror the one output signal to 2 rooms. I'm pretty good with wiring and so on, so can I set this up in advance? With the wires already in place from the DirecTV install, I may already have what I need, but I am not sure how to 'split' the output signal from the tuner or if it requires any special gear.
As you can see, my main issues are around costs since that's my main motivation in switching to Dish from DirecTV so I want to be sure I am not setting myself up to spend equal or more money when making the move
I think that is all I have for now. Thanks so much for taking the time to read and respond. It's appreciated.
