Survivor: Cook Islands

I would like the idea of keeping the two tribes for longer too, BUT... HDTV Magazine's description says "the two tribes merge and another castaway is voted off."

So, your expectation of the merge is accurate. Hoping that Candice's hooking up with Adam (is that his name?) serves to bite her in the ass, so to speak, AND between her and Jonathan, they serve as a distraction to protect the AITU crowd for a bit.

My wife's response to this week's show says it all

"that episode was deeply satisfying!"

Yul survived without using the idol. Cool.

I have changed my mind about strategy. Jonathan is screwed beyond means. He has NO way to win the game, since he has betrayed EVERYONE in the game. I say take the man all the way to the final four. Maybe the final two. Even if the betraying conniving bastard gets the $100K, there is no way he'd win the million.

Adam can have his harem, but that's the only booty he is going to get in this game! :D :D

Interesting article at Survivor Fever

Interesting. No more "final four." There will be a "final five."

Need to think about how this will change the game.

Re: the next one in Fiji; it seems like they have given up on finding new and different types of locations; pretty much fallen into the find an island group in the south pacific routine for the show.

I'd like to see Survivor Alaska (filmed in the Summer of course)

I have thought about that scenario many times. Weather could make it VERY unpredictable, and that would put a nice twist into it. But it wouldn't be good in terms of the bikini girls; nor would the water be conducive to any of the swimming challenges. Brrr... :D

Watching the second-to-last episode of the first season of Arrested Development, when Michael is being questioned by the police, when all of a sudden I notice the guy acting as the police detective -- its Jonathan from Survivor: Cook Islands!

Same face, same voice, just no beard, and a few years younger. So I go to SurvivorFever.net and sure enough contestant Jonathan Penner is a writer/producer in Los Angeles (I never caught that in the show).

I really like the outcome of the last show, but I think Jonathan made a really dumb move for himself. He should have pretended to be allied with Yul, so that they will vote for Nate. But he would actually vote for Yul. That way, Yul's Idol would be used and Nate (his biggest enemy) would be gone. At the next game, it would be 4 against 4, an even match. Now he pretty much screwed himself. He maybe saved for the next time, but after that, he could be out anytime. They don't need him anymore with their number. He is just living on borrowed time.

Yeah, he has actually been around for quite a while. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0672103/

That is a good point. But even in that 4-4 situation, its uncertain whether or not he wouldn't be voted out first; I am not sure it matters, since he has alienated himself from everyone, at least by switching sides, he may gain a few extra days...

I believe that right before the vote Yul told Jonathan if he did not commit to the alliance they would vote for him and not Nate.

Of course then Jonathan had to think about it.

Actually I think besides Yul, the late Nate and Ozzie, Jonathan has been the only actually playing the game, the rest are just there...

I agree. And that scares me in the sense that those who are not could end up winning. Always the frustrating part of Survivor, for sure. I still shake my head back at the Survivor when Vicepia won. I was pissed for a week.

This last episode smoked... Now I want Adam and Candice to get their asses voted off... Now 4-4 or 5-3 depending where Jonathan feels he is at. I think this is great (that Jonathan flipped). The other way around would have been very boring.
