But I would hook up the motor after your 1x8 switch. That way it won't move unless you use it. I have my motors after the switch. The switch should pass enough current to run the motor. Mine does.
You can buy that switch for $9 at roxsat right now. Don't think you can knock that switch out by putting too big a load on it. It just wouldn't pass the juice and whatever it was that needed it wouldn't work right. I've got two of those switches and they have been serving me well for over 5 years in many kinds of setups, inside and outside use.I do not want to take this risk. If I burn that switch out I'm in a big, big mess.

I wish I could see that setup of yours. Especially the signal distribution setup. I've never needed more than one monitor or TV at a time so I've never looked into a multi-room, multi-monitor system. Sounds like the ex was quite a sat enthusiast. But I'm beginning to see some of what was driving him
