OK
I just noticed this today on some of the HD Channels like some of the Voom Channels and Discovery and FoodHD. What I mean by stuttering is that their is a slit hesitation on the screen kind of like a skipping. Anyone else noticed this? Hopefully in the near future Dish will do something about the 129 and move their HD to another bird.

It seems to have cleared up it might have been just something with those shows that were on at the time.

If I understand what you are talking about, I have seen this most notably on TNT-HD. As far as I remember I never really noticed it much if at all on any of the other channels. But I dont watch tv 24/7. Maybe TNT does it as a way to try and keep audio and video synced up (skipping frames) when there is a problem. I think ffdshow (and maybe others) has an option for that with xvid and divx when video processing cannot keep up with the sound.

This happens at least once or twice a day to me on my 622. When it happens, it happens on all HD channels and I have to power on and off for it to go back to normal or it will go back to normal in a few minutes or so. This happened ever since the 4.xx update. I have been hoping for a new update that would clear this up. I do not want to exchange the 622 for a new one because I do not want to lose my recordings but if I have to wait any longer for an update I may just do that.

I noticed it yesterday as well. At the same time it was happening on UNIHD I also noticed my remote commands were slow to take effect. It doesn't happen on a regular basis on my 622 but every now and again . . .

I figured it was my ViP211 since I wasn't seeing this on my 622. I had Dish send me a new 211 to try and fix the problem, but the unit I have now is even worse than my original ViP211. I could reboot my old 211 and it seemed to be fine for several hours. Now, I was watching Sopranos on A&E HD (from 61.5?W) and watching it is painful. This reminds me of the mixed frame rate issues that plagued HDNet Movies presentation of "ENRON: The Smartest Guys in the Room".

I looked at my recording of "The Sopranos" from the other night I had made on my ViP622 and I saw something rather disturbing: Pressing "||" and single frame stepping through the video showed a pattern of 2-2-2-4, where I'd see the picture change, a duplicate frame, a frame change, dup, change, dup, then change, dup, dup, dup. This pattern repeated for the time that I had recorded. It's no wonder my brain is complainging about stuttering video: This is a far cry from a 2:3 dropdown. The question now is whether this is A&E HD's fault or Echostar's?

Can someone else verify that this is happening? Oh, and I get my 9419 from 61.5?W, in case that makes a difference.

I'm on hold with Dish because my 211 is dropping every third or fourth frame. It's horrendous! The ESPN channels don't seem to have an issue, though, just the 1080i ones.

Grrrrr....
