strange failure mode: 721

Here's a strange one for y'all.

After Southern Star (the local Austin install company) got my D1000/61.5/DPP44 setup up, one of my 2 721's gives NO AUDIO (video is fine).

While it's got the '678 getting data from satellite' screen up, if I point to
the point dish screen, I get tones, but once it's totally up, I get NO AUDIO at all.

I've already got a replacement coming, but any ideas out there?

It was a new one on the advanced tech I talked with as well.

We've used both the 3-wire (Yellow/Red/White) and RF (Channel 3),
and the same results.

I was thinking the same question tate had, after some more thought, but looks like the receiver has seen its better days........enjoy the new one

Yep. I bet the hardware folks will figure it out once it hits home.

Meanwhile, I reactivated a 501 to sit in it's slot till the new 721 gets here.

Just been one of those weeks.
