Storing Satellite Position with DisEqc 1.2

Having some trouble storing satellite positions with my new Traxis DBS6000HD. I'm starting with USALS to get to SES1. Finding BVN fine, but the quality is in the 50's and signal cuts out at times.

Then I switch to DisEqc 1.2, and nudge the satellite a few steps to the right - signal improves by 10+ points. But how do I have he receiver remember that position? When I select a 'motor position' to save to, the signal drops right back to 0... does selecting that position go to a preset position??? How do I find SES1 again with DisEqc and then save the position? Is there any rhyme or reason as to which 'motor position' I should be saving a particular satellite to?

USALS Verses DiSEqC 1.2

I don't think you can save positions with DiSEqC 1.2 when you have USALS enabled. You can nudge the antenna this way or that way and watch tv, but I don't think you can save positions. You would have to disable USALS and use DiSEqC 1.2 to save positions. I am not an expert, but I think that is how it works.

Go to SES1, with USALS, and tune up the motor/dish. Having to 'nudge it' says it's not 'ON'. I suspect you have to twist the motor, on the pole, just a bit. Then USALS should get you the rest of the arc.

You can also do some fine tuning of the USALS positioning by changing the satellite position by whatever amount that works.

For example; If for 125w, the dish needs to be nudged a bit east, change the 125W location to 124.7.

If all your satellites need this type of nudging in one direction, a bit of fine tuning is probably in order.

Yup! I track the arc beautifully, except for that messed up Satmex 5. So for USALS, I just reprogrammed it from 116.8 to 116.4 and I usually get all the stuff there with no problems now
