Notice this article only references central and northern NM places ... Hatch is in southern NM and down here is where the best green chile cheeseburgers are imho, we have a Blakes, not really a fan.
Yeah, no love for Roswell, Artesia, Carlsbad, Las Cruces, etc! Obviously a puff piece for the rest of America who can only think of Albuquerque and Santa Fe and then they had to throw in San Antonio which just happens to be in Texas!
Edit: alright, the San Antonio they are talking about just happens to be in NM.. It's such a small town it isn't even carried in the US census!

Gave it to a friend, she wore it for years ... best green chile cheeseburgers around here were at a cafe in the Guadalupes ... Snow to Go isn't bad.

"None of the chiles that come out of NMSU are GMO, and they will never be," Coon said.
Never say never. As GMO takes hold, it will leave the old varieties in the dust. They can then "get with the program" or be relegated to caretakers in a museum.
Finally broke into the latest batch of chiles, have a package thawing for a disc cook if the wind stays down...

They have 2 roasters at Walmart, & 1 at the other grocery stores, takes about 5 - 8 minutes to roast. I did get in on the last chiles, roasters are gone now, rains must have killed the remaining crop.
