Follow the grease on the green chile cheeseburger trail By Elaine Glusac

Culinary boosters here like to call New Mexican food "the nation's first fusion cuisine," a centuries-old blend of Native American, Spanish and Mexican styles. But it's the mash-up of American pop culture and the long tradition of chile pepper love that has produced the state's stand-out, road-trip-inspiring two-fister – the green chile cheeseburger.

Notice this article only references central and northern NM places ... Hatch is in southern NM and down here is where the best green chile cheeseburgers are imho, we have a Blakes, not really a fan. ;)

Yeah, no love for Roswell, Artesia, Carlsbad, Las Cruces, etc! Obviously a puff piece for the rest of America who can only think of Albuquerque and Santa Fe and then they had to throw in San Antonio which just happens to be in Texas! :)

Edit: alright, the San Antonio they are talking about just happens to be in NM.. It's such a small town it isn't even carried in the US census!

CO has chillies? Hydroponic?

And yeah, the Broncos are FAMOUS ALL OVER NM! Sure. Right.

But I wouldn't mind being a judge in such a contest.

Someone sets up to roast them for you? Pretty big rig, that's a lot of peppers. How long?
