Like The Weather Channel in HD? I'm enjoying the hell out of that channel. yeahh right!!
Rush, Rave, Game Play and Worldsports were my fav's.
Do you guys think that I really want to watch politics in HD? or the Weather common!!!, or even the news? Another thing is the crappy picture quality, like I stated yesterday I knew something was comming, because were all this "new avalible bandwith" is comming from? yeap from 15 Real Hd channels to power 22 mediocre channels.

Supposedly, the Voom channels were still being transmitted the last time anyone checked. So in theory, hackers can watch them now while paying customers can't. Dish just doesn't get it on so many levels.

It is easier to just change the system tables to remove the channel than to actually remove the channel. No need to have someone remove all the boxes involved with receiving voom, encoding it and getting it ready for uplink at midnight. I suspect the video will go away quickly over the next few days as they have someone work on it.

I switched to DirecTV last fall, but almost stayed with Dish because of Voom. I watched maybe five or six Voom channels, but I enjoyed them. Boy am I glad I didn't stay with Dish. I'd be fuming right now.

i also never watched the voom ones, rarely and only in skimming channels
if it adds things i will watch in HD then great!
HD networks is 90% of my TV watching. If the CW went HD I would be happy!

FX is one I do hate is not HD and FOXNEWS but I assume that's not happening anytime soon, if ever

The "CW" has HD programming, if you receive it OTA, and if your CW affiliate broadcaster has upgraded to digital broadcast.

But I agree about FX. Would sure like for that by the time the new Shield and Rescue Me episodes roll out.

Effective May 13th (9:59pm EST) 2008, the VOOM HD Line-up has been completely removed from the DISH Network HD line up. DISH Network continues to be the leader in providing the best movies, sports and entertainment in High Definition.

In order to provide customers with top quality entertainment, DISH Network continually evaluates and at times, makes changes to our channel line-up. We are excited to announce the addition of over 20 new high definition channels which will provide our customers the top rated channels including The Weather Channel HD, Disney HD East, Bravo HD and Cartoon HD. As of result of these additions, we have removed some channels that are less popular with our customers. These channels are not available with any other satellite provider. The VOOM lineup removed consists of 15 HD channels.

Watch for even more high definition channels over the upcoming weeks as DISH Network grows to over 100 of the best national HD channels by end of year.

The "CW" has HD programming, if you receive it OTA, and if your CW affiliate broadcaster has upgraded to digital broadcast.

But I agree about FX. Would sure like for that by the time the new Shield and Rescue Me episodes roll out.

The Shield and Rescue Me are not in HD and are not supposed to be in HD next season either.

1. What The Leader of Movies in HD? Give me an HD channel that DirecTv does not have right now in HD that makes Dish Network the Leader in HD Movies?

2. What The Leader in Sports in HD? Ok. Where is YES HD, where is Major League Baseball Extra Innings, Where is the NFL Sunday Ticket? These are just a few to mention. I am sure there is more. If anything I will crown DirecTv the undisputed HD Leader in Sports.

3. What the HD leader in entertainment? What makes you the HD leader in entertainment? What makes you different than DirecTv.

sure we were all excited about this until you screwed it all up.

including The Weather Channel HD, Disney HD East, Bravo HD and Cartoon HD.

Lets see:

1. The Weather Channel has the map in HD sometimes and about 1 to 2 hours of recorded HD. Hardly any live HD.

2. Disney HD East, yes I saw some HD on it but nothing to rave about. It is not like everything is HD. I'd bet 95% of it SD upconvert.

3. Bravo HD. I checked two days in a row and nothing HD I have seen.

4. Cartoon HD. I thought I saw HD but I was a fooled. They change the stretch-o-vision to try to fool you. Now jsixpack will say that is HD but nothing is HD in here. It is a place holder just like 5max.

what can you say you shot your self in the foot. you proclaim yourself the HD leader but yet cut down the HD content and now are less than your truly HD leader -- DirecTv.

Sounds like you need Direct, both FX and CW both HD

Exactly. Which I why I don't understand all the local channel hoopla. If you live in a city, go buy a cheap antenna for $5.

Well for me, I am pretty pissed off. They took away 15 channels that had 24 hour a day full hd, true HD content and gave us some stuff like Cartoon Network where not ONE program is true high def. I didn't watch alot of the Voom channels, but my favorite channel on DISH was Voom's MONSTERS HD and FilmFest. In my opinion they should have at least kept the 5 or 6 most popular Voom channels. The Voom NEWShd was all HD news, even on-location news stories and I watched it all the time, check out CNN high def, very little true HD content. I think this was a big mistake.

What exactly are they leading in? Do they mean the most HD customers (this may be true)? Or do they mean the most HD broadcast in movies, sports, and/or entertainment (which is not true)?

Wrote Dish a nice little letter asking for the exact date my contract ends so I know when to cancel service.

Good work getting rid of VOOM and adding a bunch of crap channels with little to no HD content and tons of repeats. Besides the DVR (which DirecTV has caught up to) VOOM was the only shining star Dish's repertoire. Who needs more glorious HD channels full of SD programming?
ABC Family in HD is a joke. Bravo in HD is a waste of bandwith. So is WFN, CNN HD, MSNBC HD, Cartoon HD... Smithsonian and MGM are just as repetitive as VOOM, but without the variety. When is my contract up? That is the day I say good bye Dish!

Seriously, what a bunch of whiny babies. Good lord. They are just HD channels. Is your life changed THAT much by this? I have said in other posts, you are a VERY small number of people that actually want VOOM. Most people have NO knowledge of it, even if they actually have HD. Seriously, maybe there isn't much hd on these new channels at the moment...but there WILL be. And we are ready when it happens. This is so much worse than the No New HD posts for the last few months. Just shut up and wait and see. Go to Direct if you feel you are getting the shaft. But you still don't get VOOM over there. So what is the point. They now get maybe 10 channels that Dish doesn't now. Good luck with that.
