Stargate Universe

Now this is more like the Stargate I know and loved! :)

O'Neill was tough and sounded like the old Jack and it was fun seeing Sam on there again.

I'm guessing cosmic radiation leaking through the fluctuating shield is what fried that guy to a crisp and as for why the ship didn't jump again after the gate connection closed, I've got no idea...

It was a good episode... Syfy is annoying with the screen spam - Merlin coming up next, you are watching SGU and watch full episodes cr*p on the screen though ;) (I would like to see a FULL episode without anything but the Syfy marker on the screen ;))
Young should have vented, if nothing else just to throw them off guard, Rush was right

I was thinking they would capture the base instead of it blowing up. Then they would have supplies sent in. I still do not understand the whole point of the Alliance trying to capture the ship, what are they going to do with it? It is ancient Ancient technology, probably not near as advanced as what Earth already has. How are they going to discover secrets when Earthlings have been at it for a year and are still locked out with access to all ancient technology from Pegasus galaxy?

Yeah I realise it is just a set up for next season. Now we will have 3 contingents of people trying to get along... The military, the Alliance and the Scientists

I liked the episode, but it was just really a build up to the cliff hanger. I wonder if they are planning major cast changes next season? They pretty much have it where anyone could be killed off if needed. Plus of course there are a lot of original people plus new arrivals that could surface as always been there but we never saw them in the crowd.

I still wonder how the Lucian Alliance members plan on communicating back home? Did they bring their own stones?

They finally got Lou Diamond Phillips aboard the ship, so it's possible that Young could be leaving the show (though I don't think it'll work out that way). Like you said, they've got it positioned to go in a lot of potential directions. I enjoyed the episode too, I just wish they'd have given us a look at the binary star system. Yeah, it would've cost a bit in some cgi dollars, but c'mon, just an animated graphic on a screen was rather lame... That was my only complaint about the episode...
