Star Trek Discovery

Still haven’t watched season 4.
It wasn't bad, other than this time the Dark Matter Anomaly was threatening the entire galaxy and everyone in it. Of course as usual Michael solves the problem almost by herself. With every season, bad things became more and more apocalyptic. I was afraid that Season 5 was going to have her save the entire universe, but from what I read, they held back from that story arc.

Well, do you think we can mention a certain TNG episode, and one of my favorites, without spoiling the new S5?

The Chase

I personally don't mind spoilers and even sometimes enjoy them. But others hate that.

Well, I'm enjoying it, but my wife dropped out after episode 2. Last night at least I did get her to watch The Chase with me. And from the lack of response from anybody else in the forum, I would guess I'm the only one watching it at this point.

I haven't watch last night's episode yet (we get it here in Canada on the CTV Sci-Fi channel, so it was recorded). First two episodes weren't bad, but did have some logical/consistency/have to suspend belief the unrealistic parts a little too much for my liking. But then, that's Discovery!

Yup. This week (or was it last?) we have a
time bug
that really confused the principal characters. I don't remember another ST episode in any series with such a thing.

Well, yesterday's episode didn't advance the search much but I liked it anyhow. Martin-Green and Wiseman really did race to exhaustion to get the breathing right, but they did not dehydrate which was faked with some artful makeup. Blu del Barrio is again prominently featured on the show.

This last episode was easily the worst of the season. Honestly I’d say all the others have been quite good, but this one wasn’t.

-How many times do we see the same basic plot where a they have to visit a pre-warp society and someone gets sentenced to death?

-Rayner lost his command for making one bad call. Burnham probably won’t face any repercussions for shattering the prime directive in a million pieces.

-Absolutely no time whatever was spent in actually getting the clue despite it being on a dangerous planet.

Seriously, no real tension and in the end everything came way too easy.

Watched ep2 this afternoon. A week later than I planned, but there it is...

This episode, for me, is a tad uneven. It's good in places and also terribly boring in places. And why, when Burnham and Saru are on the surface, didn't any of that white stuff floating in the air get on them or that they never even inhaled any of it???

Book recognizing Mull was an interesting twist, as was Burnham's choice of a new Number One.

Beyond that, I figured out that it was a puzzle when she held up the ring, so no real surprise there with the reveal that it was a puzzle.

Might watch ep3 sometime later tomorrow (Sunday)...we'll see...

Episode 8 was broadcast yesterday. Now there is only the season (and series) finale left which is a double-episode. Will they spread it out over two weeks or both next Thursday?

Today's episode was fairly exciting but the more frequent tough spots Burnham miraculously gets out of, the less plausible the story. I fear a kum ba yah moment coming for the series finale.
