Today I noticed that CSI in the afternoon had some funky start times. Turns out that Spike has increased the programming "hour" for CSI to one hour and 20 minutes on some of their afternoon screenings specifically to insert more (interminable) advertising. Dudes must not have read the latest news report about people starting to drop satellite and cable. This is just one more reason why after 14 years with Dish the programming is becoming of less and less of worth to my family. Netflix Blu-Ray (the ultimate 'a la carte) and internet streaming are looking better and better every day...

Programming MORONS seem to think adding more commercials will make up for less people watching their channels. No... have LESS commercials and charge more for each slot. People are likely to sit through a 30 second or one minute commercial break EVEN if they have a TiVo. Anything longer and people will tune out or skip the commercials all together.

They probably view it as another 20 minutes of air time filled without having to pay more. They do it 3 times and they have an extra hour of programming. They probably really do not care about the commercials being watched, saving an hour of programming makes it worthwhile.
