Sound Quality with ViP722 ???

Hooked up my new 722 the other night and noticed the audio sounded like they were talking in a tunnel or can .... sounded real distorted. Has anyone else had this problem ??? I have the 722 hooked up the same way I had my 522 with the optical digital cable. Could this just have been the station up feed maybe ?? ... don't notice it on all stations !!

Is the 722 configured correctly for (I forget) Bitstream or PCM?

Be sure to check the configuration of your 722. Also, it could be the station, too. I've noticed that local network affiliates with limited budgets often have a real problem with properly passing along a 5.1 audio signal from the network (heck, the networks sometimes have problems). I've noticed some real odd behavior, such as sporting events with all the stadium sound, but no announcer sound, right channel only, etc..
Now, if this happens on more than one channel, that's a problem. Also, does it happen on HD material, SD stuff, or does it seem random?
