Sony: PS3 is good enough to replace PCs

Even the summary was bad, it's not an attack on PC gaming, it's an attack at microsoft. I'm sick of sony saying their systems are going to be god's gift to my entertainment center. I remember hearing that we'd all hook up our emotion engines to the internet and form some super-computer that'll stop world hunger or some other huge important issue...meanwhile I can't even load Tekken in less than a minute, let alone do it and get images that aren't jagged around the edges as a mother-in-law...

BOOOO sony, BOOOO.

Yes the ps3 will play movies, but who in the hell uses their ps2 to watch dvd's? Poor people or people who don't know any better, and poor people aren't shelling out 700 bucks for a ps3, a game and a memory stick...

If sony didn't have the most franchises they'd have been bitch slapped out of the industry by now...And if Nintendo could wake the f**k up and help out a bit, it would be nice.

Priceless. :D Sony's corporate culture is apparently based on completely exaggerated, utterly out-of-touch, surrealistic, retarded comments. :D

Totally! What kind of drug was that guy on. I want some. IMHO, consoles will never ever replace the PC, not even for gaming. Two different technologies, two different markets. Consoles are just for plain gaming, pc's for whatever you want to use it for. In terms of gaming, if I can't hook up a keyboard and a mouse, forget it. Another thing in gaming: With a pc, I can always tweak the rosolution and play around with the settings. Can you do this with a console?

Replace the PC? Hahahaha! Maybe if they were only using it for gaming and it was on real killer of a machine but it would not replace it for long even at that rate. Did they forget there are actually more uses for a computer than that?

After the PS2 and Xbox 360, I will still stay with my custom PC for games, along with what Stargazer mentioned above.

Another problem I have with the xbox 360 and the up and coming ps3 is that to really enjoy these consoles to the max, you need to have a high definition capable lcd/plasma monitor which at this point in time are still pricey.

I wouldn't go as far to say you need a "flat panel", just a HD capable TV would be fine; over paying just to have "flat panel" is the pref of the buyer. same in the home theater realm; "flat panel" is the buzz, but there are equally good, cheaper alternatives.

Or you could go with a projector. That would give you a nice huge screen to play off of and can be used for the computer too.

Now Stargazer, stop talking bang for the buck commom sense. People have to have that $5000 or more tiny 46" - 60" "flat" TV because the Jones' and the Buzz's have it. LOL!

psp question

Sony doesn't care about market share next gen
