Sony Blu-Ray DVD's will not pay thru Sony TV

I have a Sony blu-ray player connected to a Sony HDTV. No matter what we did, my wife and I could not get the DVD to show up on the TV. We moved the player to a Sony TV in another room, connected the HDMI cord to a spare HDMI outlet and the player worked perfectly. Does anyone know why the Blu-ray player worked with one Sony TV but not the other?

What model BD player and what model TV?

The blu-ray player is a Sony Model BDP-S350 and the TV is Sony Model KDL-40V2500.

The only thing I can think of is 24p is enabled in the player menu. i don't think the KDL-40V2500 can accept a 1080p/24 signal.

Thanks for the info. I took the easy route and connected the player to a different TV. It works fine.
