Kurt Sutter Inks New Overall Deal With 20th Century Fox TV
The
Sons of Anarchy creator has inked a new three-year overall deal with the studio behind the FX biker drama,
The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Under the pact, his second, Sutter will develop new projects for the studio, with FX securing a first-look option on all the showrunner's new material. The new pact keeps Sutter specifically at 20th, which includes exclusive services at the studio and its cable outlet Fox 21. (His first deal was a three-year pact with 20th TV and FX Productions.)
Sutter will complete the seventh and final season of
Sons of Anarchy and segue immediately into production on FX's
The Bastard Executioner, a period drama about a warrior knight in King Edward III's charge who is broken by the ravages of war and vows to lay down his sword before violence thrusts him back into battle. Sutter will pen the script and exec produce with Imagine's
Brian Grazer and
Francie Calfo for Fox 21 and FX Productions via his overall deal with 20th, where Imagine is also based. Production is expected to begin in early 2015 in London.
