Software Version P3.07 for DVR 501/508 and DVR510

I just wished I could get the update.... I understand some people not wanting it due to bugs and such.. but hell I love living on the edge and if VOD is there and they have some good flicks I will use it. I just hate having to wait is there a way to force my 501 to download the update? I plan on getting a HD box in 2 years but as long as I can squeeze more life out of my 501 I say here here

any word on the complete roll out?????

Even when the 501 gets the updated software, it wont get VOD only the 508/510 have the needed disk space for VOD.

In another forum a poster is claiming that the 501 and 508 have additional partitions that can be used for VOD. i am not saying it is true just reporting it as having been said.

508 yes, 501 no.
On the tech forum when they said VOD will be added to the 508/510 they specifically said not on the 501, not enough disk space.

Took P304 the other day, and whenever I powered on the 508, it no longer asked if it could download new firmware.
That's good.

After a few days of running P304, I see some of the same bugs are still present.
And tonight, I locked up and lost the ending of a show I routinely save to DVD.
That's not good, times two!

Now, I see the &%$#@ thing wants to update again.
This means P307/8 is coming my way?
That's not good, at all.

Posting what I actually think about Dish and their firmware department would get me tossed off this forum!

After having P3.08 on my 501 and 510 for a couple days now, it seems that there is nothing new, fixed, broken, timers lost, or disk space reduced (whew!!!!). I suspect that the P3.07/P3.08 updates where just preparations for the up coming E10 rollout.

My 508 asked me if i wanted to download a free update Tuesday night.. I said "NO WAY JOSE!!!!". I wanted to see what others were saying about the update b4 i took it.

I checked last night and my 501 has P3.08, I didn't see any new feature or problem.

I downloaded 3.08 on my bedroom 508. It prefiously had the problem with the cursor moving more than you told it in certain menus, especially the search screen.

After 3.08 I did do a check switch, couldn't get my satelite reception back. I then had to unplug it from the wall for a few and plug it back in it returned then.

But the upside, is I couldn't get the cursor to jump around at all on the search screen, maybe this is a bug fix, our my receiver just was in a good mood.

I'd like to see the bug fix list on this update.

I've never seen that one, but apparently it didn't fix the problem where the receiver sometimes crashes when browsing the search results...still happening to me.
