Well, if they'd put NBR on the 501, 508, 510 two years ago, when they said so, it'd have been fine.
Now, with the 510 not even showing up on their site for sale, ya gotta wonder.
I've held my 508 back at rev P301 and avoided much of the recent troubles, but that can't last forever.
If P307 was a pure maint release without VOD, then I might suspect they'd shaken the bugs out.
Now, with VOD, I wouldn't give you a nickle for it being bug-free.

"Partial" just means it's being released to a limited number of receivers, it doesn't have anything to do with features in or not in the update.NightRyder

I'm hoping that the UHF remote will work better. My 508 is in a cabinet with no windows. The remote is really slow or doesn't work at all when the door is closed. I even put a short coaxial cable on the UHF antenna and moved the UHF antenna outside right next to the TV, but it didn't work any better. I was remembering is used to work much better. Now I usually have to keep the cabinet door open.
Yeah, and the darn cursor keeps going crazy whenever you try to scroll in the recordings menu!!! I am ready for this to be fixed. it causes my remote to hang up for 2 or 3 minutes at a time!!!
Mine does the same thing, and started with the last update. I remeber someone else reporting same issue.
I have 3 remotes for 2 508's ( 1508 does it the other doesn't), both have 304.
So I've tested the remotes, not the issue. Also if I hold down the down button the light is on the entire time the remotes transmitting. But when the 508 won't stop, the light on the remote has long turned off.
This is a badly annoying problem.

My remote for the 508 did the same thing! Never see that problem on the 501, though.
If you absoultely don't need the UHF remote, and can work with only IR, then remove the antenna off the back of the 508.
I only use IR and the problem has not come back for months.
I understand for some people, this option won't be viable, but for those who it is, seems to work for me.

Yes, I've changed the remotes and changed the remote codes...
My issue is with the 501 instead of the 508... go figure..

Could be. I'm on my 3rd 721, and this one seems to be holding up. I understand they made changes in the 721 to improve it's reliability. That might have been more than more reliable hard disks, but who knows?
Time frame........?
Who is getting the SW upgrade for the 510 now? We haven't gotten it yet and was wondering what and when to expect it. Everything is ok on the reciever now.
