You can't force downloads of new software. You get them when your receiver is authorized to get them. There is one exception, CE releases, which Jimbo gave you the link to.

The new software releases usually start out here on the west coast and move east....if you try to force it before your receiver is authorized, all you will get is the same software you already have. Forcing is good for new receiver purchases and CE, that's about it.
