So Who's Having OTA Problems on Their Joeys?

I've been dealing with this issue for a long time. I've been on the phone with Dish about it too several times. I remember doing a total system reset that seemed to fix it for a short while, but it always comes back. What are the odds of Dish replacing my original OTA adapter with the AirTV $29 unit? Can a DIRT rep contact me about this?
Since its not an actual DISH unit the chances are ZERO.
Now the actual DISH unit which is the same unit under the cover your chances would be slightly better but still unlikely.

Just thought I would post an update from my previous posts on this thread. I did end up buying a new Dual OTA tuner... the white AirTV one for $29... and have had no issues now for two weeks. No video or audio breakups while watching OTA channels on my Joey. Plus I have the added benefit of having two tuners, so I can watch two different OTA channels on the Hopper and Joey. Tuner sensitivity seems about the same as my old OTA signal tuner.

Get the new Lark dual-tuner OTA adapter, or the equivalent dual-tuner model from AirTV, which are exactly the same except for the color.

I can confirm this. I upgraded from a very old DISH OTA tuner that was having issues breaking up on OTA recordings or when viewing on Joeys to the AirTV OTA adapter (purchased direct from them for $29.99 plus tax) and it is working fine. Recordings and Joey viewing both work. The Hopper 3 rebooted when I plugged in the new OTA adaptor, but the Hopper 3 booted up afterwards and remembered all my OTA channels and guide info. Thanks for the great info shared in this thread!

This is also occuring on the Hopper 3? Mine is a HWS.

I read all the threads. Someone recommended buying a AirTv dual tuner adapter from the AirTv.net website for $29. I did it and it fixed my OTA degradation issue watching on my Joey's and recordings. Worked for me. Just replace your Dish dongle with this. Thanks to the folks who recommended this fix. Now Dish needs to modify their Dish dongle to operate like this AirTv adapter. It would make customers much happier.

Does the AirTV dongle have the same overheating issues that some have reported the dual-tuner Dish model having?
Just so we are clear, the dual-tuner Dish model that was widely reported to have the overheating issue was the older, smaller Hauppage model, not the newer Lark dual-tuner adapter. I have a Lark (same internal components as the AirTV dongle, but in a black Dish-branded case) and it does not get anywhere near as warm as my Hauppage.

I thought you sold your Hauppage to me! Was that comment just a memory? (It is for me too. When the AirTV tuner came out, I bought it.)
I had more than one. I sold my spare to you (that I had previously connected to a rarely-used Wally). I still have the other Hauppage, and it is still connected to my Living Room Wally. The Lark is connected to my Bedroom Hopper Duo.
