SlingGuide - Problems

Actually, let me correct that. I'm not seeing the -01 channels for the four locals I get in HD from Dish. I am seeing them for other locals though....

I'm observing the same thing. no -01 channels for ABC/CBS/NBC/Fox but I do have them for some of the smaller stations. Oddly, I do see the subchannels for the majors.

I'm also seeing some channels in the guide that aren't local to DFW. For example, I've got 33-00 (sat) which is the Dallas CW affiliate. But 33-01 in the slingguide grid is UWTV - apparently a Univ. of Washington channel? I've also got 11-00 (sat) which is the Dallas CBS affiliate and 11-01 which is listed as Alaska Information. Looks like they have some work to do.

I noticed that when I create a manual timer on an OTA channel, the interface seems to 'shift' the times I select by 2 hours (earlier). I wonder if it is assuming I am in the Pacific timezone when I am actually in the Central timezone. I have submitted this as a bug using the Feedback link.

Also, if there are conflicts on OTA "Digital Service" timers, the interface only shows the words "Digital Service". Without extra information like the channel, day of week, date, and time, it is impossible to resolve the conflicts. I submitted this as an enhancement as well.

On a separate note, I see all of my OTA channels when creating timers or viewing scheduled timers. But I do not see my previously recorded OTA events.

I just set mine up last night. I can see the OTA channels that correspond to locals provided by Dish (i.e., 003-00, provided by Dish is visible as are 003-01 and 003-02, both OTA).

I cannot see OTA channels that do not have a corresponding channel provided by Dish. (Since there is no 027-00 from Dish, I cannot see 027-01 OTA.)

Do you get HD locals from Dish?? I do and those are the channels my -01's don't show up for.

I do and my -01s show up now on the grid. Didn't the other day though... must have taken my suggestion to heart. :)

I'm trying to figure out what happened to an episode of "The New Adventures of Old Christine" that supposedly recorded this Wednesday night. I thought I saw it in my group of recorded events, but then it was gone. Even checking the History on my ViP 622 doesn't show that it was ever recorded. Weird.

Other than that, this SlingGuide is great. I have scheduled events from work that have recorded with no problem. I've remotely cleared old programs off the internal hard drive to make room for other events.

I do not receive any local channels from Dish. I get all of mine OTA. I can see all of my OTA channels when creating timers.

But there are definitely other issues when creating a new manual OTA timer. The web interface seems to shift the times I select (see previous post). It also changes some times from, for example, 7-8pm to 7-12am causing conflicts.

In general, the interface seems to be working well for me (connection time, response time, event searching, creating non-manual timers). But the manual timer creation needs help.

I have a 622 running in dual mode with 6.17. Over the weekend I started having some issues with the receiver. It seems like after I use the SlingGuide to interface with my receiver, my receiver starts having some problems. If the receiver is in standby mode and a timer is set to go off (either set directly or via SlingGuide), when it is time for the timer to fire, the 622 gives me the 'Acquiring Satellite' screen with checks 1-5 and then tries to download guide information (which usually hangs up). After a hard or soft reset (I've tried both), everything seems to be fine, until I use the SlingGuide software. I am going to avoid using the SlingGuide for a few days just to see if I still have any problems, since this could also be a bug with 6.17 (I didn't have any problems with 6.16) or it could just be that my 622 is on its last legs. Anyone else having a similar problem?

I just received L6.17 this morning, so I'll post back here if/when I notice any issues. I also did not notice any SlingGuide related issues with my 622 while on L6.16...

They need to let us select which tuner to use when recording a show or creating a timer. I did send feedback about this, I hope they listen.

If you don't get asked, your receiver probably has "Record Plus" enabled. When that's enabled, you don't get prompted for which tuner to use.
