The problem I am having is making me a little crazy. I had DTV installed 9 months ago. Sometimes had pixtel problems but I figured that was the weather. For the last week now when I come home from work the tv says searching for signal only on my upper channels. Channels 3 through 79 including the HD are great. First I have a HD receiver in the living room and two other regular receivers in the other rooms. It is not the receivers because this happens to all the tv's. The weather is hot 95-100 no rain. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on. Sometimes the upper channels come on for 10 seconds then searching for signal comes on this goes back and forth.
Then again around 9:00 P.M. all the channels work perfect again.
This is condition has me baffled.

Thanks

I have three receivers hooked to tv's one is a h20 and the other two are just regular DTV recievers no HD. I believe that the slimline has a built in multi-switch.
I ran a test last night about 5:30 below is what I got.
Sat 101- 1-9 95 0 95 0 95 0 95 0
9-16 95 0 95 95 95 0 95 0
17-24 95 0 95 0 95 100 95 97
25-32 95 0 95 98 95 100 95 100
Sat 101 readings seemed to change back and forth while I watched them.

Sat 110- 1-8 n/a n/a n/a n/a n/a n/a n/a 93
9-16 n/a 88 n/a 94 n/a n/a n/a n/a
17-24 all n/a
25-32 all n/a

Sat 119 1-8 all n/a
9-16 all n/a
17-24 n/a n/a 22 100 23 98 24 97
25-32 100 100 98 100 100 100 52 100
I am not sure what the settings should be.
Sorry for the double post.

Thanks for any help.

Looks like you are getting plenty of signal on all birds. Not all transponders are in use at all times. Also the bird at 110 only has 3 active transponders used for D*.
As long as the signals are over about 80 you should get a good picture. Do any of the readings that are in the 90s dip below 80 periodically?

My first guess would be your problem is with poorly installed connectors on your coax cables.

You should be getting a signal on the even 18V transponders on the 101 sat. They are not all spotbeams.
