Slimline dish for older receiver

I am still using the phase 3 dish for my Phillips receiver, considering to upgrade to the slimline dish which is 5 LNBFs, but not upgrade the new receiver yet, the question is, can the old phillips receiver is capable to use the slimline dish ? intent to get just 101, 110 and 119 satellites first from the new dish untill future cash available for new receiver.

I bet DTV will invite you pay for the equipment.

The Slimline supports HD receivers. Unless you sign up for that here is no need to do anything,

IF you elect to get the HD TV and order an upgrade you have choices. You can use one or two of the four ports on the Slimline LNB for the HD receiver (or HDDVR). This leaves you two lines left to run a 3x4 multiswitch and run your old receivers. OR you can also upgrade your SD receivers to those compatible with the newer dish.

Until it is broken why fix it?

Yes D11 and D12 Should work . But the old receivers won't.

I have a D10, A Samsung SIR-S-4040R Tivo and even a GAEBOA, HR22, H23 all hooked up to a 5 LNB slimline through a 6x8 multiswitch and they function just fine.

The first three listed certainly count as old receivers don't they?

Maybe I missed something in the other posts regarding old receivers and Slimlines.

The post morphed. Someone posted about SWM systems (single line multiswitch) and what receivers work with them. Slimline (which has four wires to a multiswitch supports all legacy receivers IIRC)

Yes,

But if you find yourself cascading non HD multiswitches..you have no HD, correct?
So you bypass the legacy switch to produce the HD from 99 & 103 OR update all SD receivers.

Without an HD need....... why the slimline?
