I put up my first Skywalker motor in December and now on number 4. I believe that these motors are not good quality and I would not recommend one. So far the warranty has been good but what about when the time limit is up? I would say that you should stick with the name brands and maybe better luck. Or maybe all motors are crap and one should not expect too much from a machine to work in the cold. I am getting frustrated. I love the idea of the motor instead of multiple dishes but maybe it is a a trade off for reliability.

I've used my DMSI SG2100 for 4 MN winters and it still runs like a champ. Worked when we hit -20F this January and worked when we hit 100+F during the summer :)

I have the DMSI SG2100 also, been up since late summer last year, and it works great! We had subzero temps for about a month and even had an ice storm with ove an inch of inch on everything and my dish was moving with no troubles whatsoever.

Thanks guys. Now I will search for the best deal on a new name brand motor that will ship up here.

I fried two Skywalker DG-120A Motors. I learned the hard way that they are junk. In summer time they worked so so, but in the cold Manitoba winter, the would just fry. I brought one to a guy who fixes electronics and was told it was the IC. The IC's ID is sanded off, so there is no point in trying to fix it. The gears in it are good, but the circuit board isn't.

I followed Iceberg's advise and bought a DMSI SG2100 and it works great.
